Gather with Purpose: Make a Real Impact in 2025

At Good Counsel Homes, our mission is simple but profound: to provide a safe, loving home for homeless pregnant women and their babies. As we look ahead to 2025, the need for our services is greater than ever, and we need your help to meet it.

In 2024, we welcomed 38 beautiful babies into our homes, but more and more women are reaching out to us for support. A staggering 1 in 5 women who seek abortions are homeless or housing insecure, which is why we believe in the importance of the "housing first" approach. Beyond a place to stay, we offer a comprehensive support system, including mental health services, job training, parenting support, and more. But, with the rising costs of food, staffing, repairs on our century-old buildings, and other essential services, we need your continued support.

That’s where Gather with Purpose comes in.

Gather with Purpose is a series of intimate, small-scale fundraising events designed to bring together people who share a passion for our mission. The purpose of these gatherings is twofold: first, to raise funds to help us continue our critical work, and second, to create lasting connections between supporters who want to make a real difference.

Earlier this year, our “Gather with Purpose” event, hosted by Christopher and Diane Tomasello, raised significant funds to support Good Counsel Homes. The Tomasellos, who generously offered a $20,000 matching gift, are passionate advocates for life, and their support is a testament to the power of community and compassion. Through gatherings like these, the Tomasellos helped amplify the impact of every single donation, providing an immediate and powerful boost to our mission.

One of the moms we serve, Lateisha, shared her story at this event. She came to us with her 3.5-month-old son, Xavier, and said, “Good Counsel is not a shelter; it’s really a home. The staff go above and beyond to guide, teach, and support me and my baby.” Stories like Lateisha’s remind us of the profound difference we can make together.
