Traditionally, our Annual Fr Benedict Groeschel Award Dinner is a time of great reflection and celebration of the accomplishments within the mission of Good Counsel's Homes. Offering this event virtually presented a challenge this year. What should the content be? How could we connect with a wider audience? Was this perhaps a greater opportunity to stir souls and spread God’s message of mercy and love for motherhood and the unborn?

Chris Bell and the Good Counsel family had the idea for a movie that could encapsulate our mission. A short film could concisely and effectively retell the real life stories of redemption and hope that we witness everyday. A film done well could impact lives in a way the usual speeches may fall short.

We are proud to present the fruits of many prayers and efforts, a true labor of our love, a short drama based on the true story of a special good counsel mother and her son. We will be dedicating this film to Our Lady of Good Counsel.

Our film follows a real-life mother from her time of turmoil; making life-changing choices to determine what her future would be. It is quick, impactful, powerful.

This is a glimpse of abuse, a challenging pregnancy, and what Good Counsel's home do every day to give life.

After the premier of our film you will meet the real-life mother and her son, now of high school age. Once abandoned by family and friends and now successful, married, and blessed. Hear her son’s story and how his life was forever changed.

Also included in the event, pray with Fr. Gerald Murray, JCD, Pastor of Holy Family Church, Member of EWTN’s Papal Posse, and Fr. John Paul Ouellette, CFR, General Servant of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal. And meet Good Counsel CEO Sandra Jones, who has been saving mothers and babies for 25 years.
