Medical Missionary Surgeon, Community Superior, U.S. Army Colonel

Sister Deidre (“Dede”) Byrne of the Little Workers of the Sacred Hearts joined Good Counsel’s Board this summer. Sister has served in Afghanistan as a U.S. Army surgeon, and as a medical missionary surgeon in such areas as Haiti, Iraq, Kenya, and Sudan.

Last year Sister said on national television she had asked God in the chapel to use her for pro-life work. Sister now serves on the Good Counsel team!

Among other things, she is devoted to the Rosary, and offers free sonograms to women in need in Washington, D.C.

On December 12, 2021, Sister Dede will offer Good Counsel’s Father Benedict Groeschel Award to No. 1 Bestselling Author Michael Knowles.

Host of the Michael Knowles Show at the Daily Wire, Writer & Lecturer

He has been married to Alissa Knowles since 2018 and they have one child. Michael is staunchly pro-life.
