Exodus Mom, Abigal, is on the move to greater things – literally!

Abigal's continued success is an inspiration to all of us here at Good Counsel.  The journey she and her now 2-year-old daughter, Arionnah, are on is an edifying reminder of why we are so grateful for our friends and supporters who make stories like Abigal's a reality.  You may have met Abigal at the 2019 Ball for Life and listened to her tell her story.  If you weren’t able to attend the Ball, please click here to watch her speech.

Abigal came to Good Counsel from an extremely violent and abusive situation when Arionnah was just one month old.  At the Ball for Life, she spoke of the support and love that she and her daughter received while living at Good Counsel from July of 2017 to March of 2019 when she was very grateful to begin an independent life for herself and her daughter in their apartment.

Just last week, Abigal experienced another significant milestone – buying her first car!  House Manager, Dominque Coston, who has been by Abigal’s side from day one, assisted her in purchasing the vehicle and securing a great deal in the process!

Dominique said, “She is riding in style with her 2010 Honda Civic.  I can’t tell you how over excited and  how hard Abigal worked to get  what she wants.” Dominque related that Abigal wished to continue to share all of her accomplishments so people can see what can happen because of the support and care provided by Good Counsel.

Also, an exciting milestone recently was celebrating Arionnah’s 2nd birthday on June 1st!  Abigal planned a birthday party for her daughter at Chuck-e-Cheese and invited the staff from Good Counsel and the moms and children who were her housemates during her stay with us.

Stepping back to take a look at all that Abigal has been through, recovered from, and succeed at, you can see how beautiful her life has become.  If every homeless, pregnant mother had a place to go to like Good Counsel –imagine all of the success stories there would be.
