So far the new year of 2022 has ushered in two new lives to the Good Counsel homes.

At the end of 2021, a new mom, "Diane" came through our South Jersey doors looking for help with her drug addiction and to care for her soon to be born child. Her daughter, "Tricia" was born January 4th with drugs in her system and is being monitored closely by her doctors. She will be cared for by the foster care system while "Diane" enters her addiction recovery program and lives with us at Good Counsel. Diane has also begun our program to prepare for the day she and her daughter can be reunited again. As we have seen too often, drugs are ravishing young women in our country. Please join us in lifting "Diane" and "Tricia" in prayers for their health, safety and the future of their family.

On January 9, the Bronx Home was pleased to announce the birth of their new baby girl Bliss Alani. Mom and baby are recovering and will be welcomed into the home with great excitement. Bliss Alani was born weighing 6 lbs 11 oz at 12:32 am.

All of us at Good Counsel would like to thank you for your support and prayers. Because of your generosity we are able to hold the hand of every pregnant woman who comes to us through their pregnancy, delivery and postpartum bonding. And with your continued support, these tiny little miracles are growing up safe and strong and loved not only by their mothers, but by Good Counsel house managers, resident advisors and child care professionals whom work selflessly in each of our homes setting the foundation for each child.

We know that these early days, weeks and months can be crucial in making sure children are not just properly nourished, but truly thriving. After a period of bonding, mothers ease back into their own lives. They are continuing education, applying for jobs and learning new skill sets essential for home ownership and parenting.

Please keep in your prayers all of Good Counsel's mothers and pray for all our babies, especially these new additions. Pray for them regularly, and consider a recurring donation to support mothers and children pregnant, parenting and in need.
